Rivercene Mansion - Gold
Rivercene Mansion Main Photo
A look back...Historic Rivercene, on the National Historic Registry, is a 12,000 sq'. mansion built by the industrious riverboat baron, Captain Joseph Kinney during the Civil War era. His 21 riverboats carried passengers and freight from New Orleans to Montana. A single trip netted Captain Kinney $50,000, which he used to build and furnish Rivercene. The home has eleven imported marble fireplaces, 15"-thick brick walls, 36" granite block basement, and fantastic original woodwork in excellent condition. The living room mural, painted in the 1800's remains.
Rivercene was featured on Home & Garden TV, was the subject of an NBC documentary, and has been featured in numerous magazines.
In 1992, Kinney's great-granddaughter sold Rivercene and serious restoration begun. Rivercene Mansion B&B opened in May, 1992 only to be devastated in July 1993 by The 500-yr. Flood! Rivercene was reopened, and in 2004, sold to the Alter family, after Bill Alter retired from the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate. This magnificent mansion will capture you with its character, history, and period style. Come and experience the history with a stay at Rivercene Bed & Breakfast. It will turn your occasion into a special memory!

Beautiful rooms/suites for one to six guests. Queen beds; private baths and/or showers, or whirlpool for two.

Current owners have business and personal obligations which have made it impossible for them to have time to market and run the inn, so loving person or family is being sought to care for and enjoy this historic treasure.
