Built in 1835 by a Maine Sea Captain as his home, this Harbor District Federal-style Inn combines the attributes of a boutique hotel and an inn right in the heart of Rockland's waterfront district. The Inn has great architectrual detail and is well decorated to showcase those features.
The Rockland area continues to show strong growth in the tourist industry, even when some Maine towns have seen business slow. The Historic Inns of Rockland have banded together to market their properties and do an excellent job in expanding their business. The Inn has a classic federal style living room with a dominant fireplace. Off the living room is a library. The walled in garden is a great place for guests to have afternoon tea, or breakfast in the summer. The light filled oak paneled Scottish breakfast room is off the living room, with the Inn Kitchen, office and reception area next door. There is a half bath on this floor as well as one guest room. The second and third floors each have 4 large guestooms. |
